El Departamento de Inglés llevó a cabo la primera jornada del Verb Contest de Segundo Ciclo. En esta instancia, los alumnos de 8° básico fueron los protagonistas, demostrando su manejo de verbos y tiempos verbales en el idioma Inglés.

Esta versión del concurso incorporó una modalidad innovadora que combinó instancias de competencia grupal e individual. La etapa grupal incluyó dos actividades gamificadas: el Pictionary Challenge, en el que un representante de cada equipo debía dibujar una acción para que sus compañeros adivinaran el verbo correspondiente, y un Kahoot interactivo, en el que los equipos respondieron 30 preguntas sobre la conjugación de verbos.

A continuación, cada equipo eligió un representante para continuar en la fase individual. Tras una ronda de eliminación, los 7 finalistas se enfrentaron en la última etapa.

Esta iniciativa fortalece en nuestros estudiantes aspectos fundamentales de nuestro sello educativo: el desarrollo cognitivo y la excelencia académica en el aprendizaje de una segunda lengua; habilidades blandas como el trabajo en equipo, el respeto mutuo y la capacidad de responder bajo presión; y la integración tecnológica mediante el uso de herramientas digitales como parte de un aprendizaje activo y significativo.

The English Department held the first session of the Verb Contest. In this opportunity, 8th grade students demonstrate their command of verbs and their corresponding verb tenses in the English language.

This edition of the contest introduced an innovative format combining both team and individual competition. The group stage featured two gamified activities: the Pictionary Challenge, in which one representative from each team had to draw an action so their teammates could guess the corresponding verb, and an interactive Kahoot, in which teams answered 30 questions on verb conjugation.

Following this, each team selected a representative to advance to the individual phase. After a single elimination round, the 7 finalists competed in the last stage.

This initiative strengthens key aspects of our school’s educational identity in our students: cognitive development and academic excellence in the learning of a second language; soft skills such as teamwork, mutual respect, and the ability to perform under pressure; and technological integration through the use of digital tools as part of an active and meaningful learning experience.
